Holmes began our 2023 ‘Open Doors TY Program’ with a fresh cohort of Transition Year students attending our Limerick office this week. In partnership with our colleagues in HOMS Assist, the students were given an insight into life in a busy law firm.

The program runs over the course of one week twice a year and gives students the opportunity to enjoy an interactive program through a series of workshops, presentations, challenges and even a court visit!

Our award-winning Open Doors TY Program includes –

  • A day in the life of a Barrister
  • Preparing a case for trial
  • Digital Communication, GDPR and how to protect yourself online
  • Street Law Workshop
  • Visit to Limerick Courthouse
  • Mock trial

Well done to all the students who joined us this week, their futures are bright!

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped facilitate the week.

A great feature of the firm is its open, friendly culture and strong sense of community that exists amongst staff. There is a very evident open-door policy together with the friendly, approachable nature of all staff – from secretaries to junior solicitors to partners – ...

From day one, everyone has been so nice, welcoming and helpful. It’s the people I work with and the difference we make that makes the job special.

It is perhaps the atmosphere around the office that I like the most. Despite it being a big firm, everyone is very friendly and always willing to help

The Holmes Transition Year Programme was very professionally run and I was enthusiastic about heading into Holmes every morning. Thank you for the opportunity, I know these things take incredible time and effort to organise but they are very worthwhile.
